Amateur Radio Award Activity
“Polish RAF Pilots – Battle of Britain”
We warmly invite all amateur radio operators to take part in a unique award activity dedicated to commemorating the heroic Polish pilots who fought in the ranks of the RAF during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
Why take part?
The Battle of Britain is one of the most significant events of World War II. In the fight for the skies over England, Poles played a crucial role—especially the pilots of No. 303 "Kościuszko" Fighter Squadron, who demonstrated extraordinary bravery and combat effectiveness. This award activity is a chance to honor their contribution to victory and to share their story with radio enthusiasts around the world.
Activity Rules
During the event, special commemorative stations will be active to honor Polish pilots and their squadrons. Each station will transmit under a unique callsign and share historical information related to the heroes of the Battle of Britain. Participants who make a sufficient number of contacts and earn enough points will be eligible to receive a commemorative certificate. More details coming soon...
Special Callsigns in Honor of the Heroes
The activity will feature 30 special event callsigns, representing 15 Polish squadrons that served in the RAF during the battle. These callsigns pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Polish pilots and highlight their key role in the Allied victory.
Join the Tribute
The award activity will take place in September 2025, offering amateur radio operators the opportunity to connect with stations operating under these historical callsigns. Each QSO brings participants closer to earning a commemorative award symbolizing their part in this special tribute.
